Chinese Cooking Utensils

Here is a list of a few essential Chinese cooking utensils:

Wok - Traditionally made of cast iron, curved woks are ideal for steaming and stir frying.

Bamboo Steamer - Designed to sit over water in the curved base of a wok.

Chopsticks - As well as using chopsticks to eat food, the Chinese use long chopsticks to turn and move food when cooking.

Earthenware Casseroles - These are used quite extensively in Chinese cooking. They can be plain or highly decorated.

Strainers - Used for straining boiled or deep fried foods. These are usually made of a fine mesh and have long handles.
